The
ACC is excited to offer a tour of St. Paul's historic Summit Avenue and an
after hours visit with dinner at the Minnesota History Center on Thursday,
June 15th.
The evening begins with a tour of
St Paul's
historic Summit Avenue. Reaching from Mississippi River Boulevard to the Cathedral of Saint Paul,
stately
Summit Avenue
showcases the country's longest span of Victorian homes. This tree-lined
avenue includes the Governor's Mansion, Fitzgerald’s townhouse and the
"Empire Builder" James J. Hill's spectacular mansion.

The
Minnesota
History Center's distinctive architecture adds a unique ambiance to your
event. Dinner is hosted in the Capital Concourse which offers a beautiful
framed view of the State Capitol's lit dome. After dinner, guided tours of
the exhibit areas are provided. These exhibits offer a living history of
the state of Minnesota and its inhabitants. The exhibits include Extremes of
Minnesota Weather, Winter Carnival (which was started in response to a New
York newspaper comparison of St. Paul to Siberia in which it declared St.
Paul as ``unfit for human habitation" in the 1880s), families in a St. Paul
house over the past 150 years, and much more. The evening at the History
Center culminates with a dessert buffet.
