NOTE: In addition to the standard podium format, the technical program for ACC09 will also include interactive sessions. The program committee reserves the right to assign accepted papers to either session category. All submissions will be subjected to the same review standards and there will be no differentiation in the conference proceedings or IEEE Xplore between papers presented in podium and interactive sessions.

Contributed papers may be submitted in regular or short paper categories.

  1. Regular papers are intended to be complete descriptions of finished work. Regular papers have a maximum length of 8 pages at submission, and of 6 pages in the proceedings.

Invited Sessions
Invited session proposals should present a unified theme from diverse viewpoints.  Each proposal should consist of a summary statement and six regular papers (not abstracts).

  1. The organizer submits an electronic version (pdf file) of the session proposal (without participating papers). PaperPlaza returns an acknowledgement that contains an alpha-numeric code for the proposed session.
  2. The organizer notifies Contributing Authors (CAs) of their invited session code.
  3. The corresponding author of each paper submits the paper online (pdf format) as an invited paper. Submission as an invited paper requires the invited session code .

The submission deadline for Invited Sessions, including all session papers, is
September 22, 2008
.

Education/Tutorial Sessions

Education/Tutorial session proposals should address state-of-the-art control theory and industrial applications. Tutorials are encouraged to have panel discussions.
A tutorial session addressing the state of the art on control theory and industrial applications consists of a maximum of six papers. The typical format is one long 40-60 min talk on the basic theory, which could be a "Lead Tutorial Paper" that if accepted, will be allowed an extended length in the proceedings, and 2-3 talks 20 min each on applications of the theory. A panel discussion could also be included. The exact format is flexible as long as it serves the educational- tutorial purpose of these sessions and the session length does not exceed the regular-session length.

  1. The organizer submits an electronic version (pdf file) of the session proposal (with titles, abstracts, participants of all the presentations involved and a summary with the rationale and structure of the tutorial session). PaperPlaza returns an acknowledgement that contains an alpha-numeric code for the proposed session.
  2. The organizer notifies Contributing Authors (CAs) of their tutorial session code.
  3. The corresponding author of each paper submits the paper online (pdf format) as an tutorial paper. Submission as a tutorial paper requires the tutorial session code.

The submission deadline for Tutorial Sessions, including all session abstracts and papers, is September 22, 2008..
