ACC 2009 -- 2009 American Control Conference

2009 American Control Conference -- ACC2009

St. Louis, Missouri, USA

June 10 - 12, 2009

Special Sessions Proposals due November 10, 2008

Please note that the Special Sessions are outside the traditional technical program of the conference, and aside from a brief description of the session, the papers will not be peer-reviewed or be included in the conference Proceedings.  Such special sessions offer an excellent venue for creating awareness of, and providing exposure to emerging research areas and other topics of broad interest to the conference attendees. The format for the special sessions is flexible, and proposers/organizers are invited to be creative and plan for significant amount of audience interaction. Generally, it is expected that there will be a few presentations on a coherent theme of either a new, emerging research area, or a topic of general interest. The typical length of a proposed session should be 60 minutes, so that they can be scheduled during lunch break or in the evening. In some specific cases, longer special sessions may be justified. For examples of such sessions, see the special sessions organized for the 2008 ACC: http://www.a2c2.org/conferences/acc2008/sessions.htm, and also the 2007 IEEE CDC Technical Program page, under the subtitle “Special Sessions”:  http://iss.bu.edu/dac/dac/cdc/program.php.

Special session proposals should be submitted directly to the Vice Chair – not via PaperPlaza. These proposals will be reviewed by members of the 2009 ACC Operating Committee. Please contact the Vice Chair for Special Sessions by email ( fchowdhu@nsf.gov ) to discuss your idea before submitting the session proposal.

All special session proposals should be submitted before November 10, 2008. Acceptance decisions will be notified by January 30, 2009.

1. Title of Session
